When you try to access Facebook, you will find this message:

Sorry, something went wrong.

We’re working on it and we’ll get it fixed as soon as we can.

It appears that this error is also affecting all services owned by Facebook such as WhatsApp and Instagram. Instagram shows a

5xx Server Error

It is very unusual for the websites and apps to be affected at the same time. We will update this story as more information is known.

Facebook had to resort to Twitter to address their services downtime:

We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience.
